The Costco Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix comes with seven one-pound pouches of brownie mix, totaling seven pounds. They’re easy to bake, with just a few required ingredients. At less than $15 per package, they’re a great deal for any brownie lover.

Personally, I wouldn’t buy the Costco Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix again. It’s not that they’re bad; they’re pretty good. I’m just not a huge fan of brownie mixes and prefer to make mine from scratch. However, if you’re looking for convenience, quickness, and yummy flavor, this pack could be right for you.

What I Like: 7 pouches per box, easy to bake, only three ingredients required, good texture.

What I Don’t Like: Not as decadent as I would have preferred, kind of dry.

Detailed Review

So, you want to know all about the Costco Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix, do ya?

I don’t blame you!

Find out everything you need to know below.

Location in Costco Store

You won’t believe this – they were in the baking section. Yes, it’s true!

But in all seriousness, this ginormous box of brownie mix was easy to find.

Saunter through the dry goods section, finding the baking section. You’ll be able to spot this box from a mile away.

If it helps at all, the item number is 847909.

Price

The price isn’t bad, considering you get a whopping seven pouches with a pound of baking mix in each.

The total price?

Just $13.99!

Ease of Use/Store

These brownies are pretty easy to mix – as long as you have eggs, vegetable oil, and water on hand.

I really liked that the back of the box gave directions on ingredient measurements based on the type of pan you’re using. This is super convenient, considering not everyone has a brownie pan. (I would typically use mine, but we just moved, and I’m not quite sure where it’s currently – I had to get creative!)

The brownies take about an hour to bake, which isn’t too bad. In fact, it’s pretty standard in terms of brownie-baking!

When left in the pouches, this brownie mix should last 18 months when properly stored. If baked, you should consume it within four days. More information on brownie storage can be found here.

Taste

Now, let’s talk about taste.

I will segway this portion by saying I am 100% a brownie snob. It’s my all-time favorite dessert, so I tend to be very picky.

That said, I would give these brownies a “meh” in terms of flavor. It’s not that they were terrible; they were quite good and had a lot of chocolate flavoring. However, I didn’t think they were as decadent as homemade brownies.

So, if I had to choose between these and the homemade version, I’d go homemade every time. It’s worth the extra steps, in my opinion.

Now, in terms of a brownie mix, it hails compared to other blends. So, if you’re a brownie mix person through and through, definitely give these a shot.

I will say that I was impressed by the texture! Very succulent and moist. It’s not cakey at all, which is perfect for brownies. However, mine were a bit dry, which I wasn’t crazy about. But that was hardly noticeable. (Again – I’m a brownie snob!)

Moving forward, I will use some of my must-know tips to make boxed brownies taste better, such as using butter instead of oil and replacing the eggs with egg yolks. This will help make this mix oodles better – trust me!

Fresh out of the oven!
Yummy!

Nutrition

So, it’s kind of a long list of ingredients, but not too crazy.

You should avoid this brownie mix if you are allergic to wheat, milk, soy, eggs, or tree nuts.

Regarding calories and such, 1/18th of this brownie mix (prepared) will set you back 180 calories. That also includes 7 grams of fat, 26 grams of carbs, and 18 grams of sugar.

Definitely don’t want to stuff your face with these!

Final Verdict

Overall, I’d say this brownie mix was OK. I prefer homemade brownies 100%. However, this should be your go-to if you want a handy brownie mix that is way better than competitor mixes. I highly recommend taking extra steps to make it better, though.

Do you like this brownie mix? If not, which mix is your favorite?
