What to Do With Leftover Pizza

Leftover….pizza? If you’re anything like me, “leftover pizza” isn’t a part of your vocabulary. But I get it – you may have ordered too much for a birthday bash, or you bought too many breadsticks and filled up on those instead. Luckily, there are so many genius ways to use leftovers.

You can do the following with leftover pizza: Make a yummy lasagna, create pizza waffles for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or create the best burger you’ve ever had. You can also cut your leftover pizza into strips, make some unique eggs, or turn up the nutrition with a salad.

Hi, everyone! My name’s Michelle, and my family and I have a (slightly unhealthy) obsession with pizza. We like to eat it as-is, so to be honest, we don’t work with a lot of leftovers. There have been those rare occasions, though, and I’ve decided to jot down my top six favorite ways to use leftovers.

How to Use Leftover Pizza (6 Ideas)

I’m a stickler for conserving. So, whenever I have leftovers, I ensure we eat them all. However, I get that the same meal over and over again can get boring – even pizza (don’t come for me for saying that out loud, please!).

That’s why I decided to get crafty with my leftover pizza. I came up with these six delicious ways to eat the leftovers.

1. Pizza Lasagna

My family loves pizza; there’s no doubt about that. But they also love lasagna. Unfortunately, I’m not exactly in love with making homemade lasagna. It’s pretty time-consuming.

But when we have leftover pizza? It’s the perfect time to whip up a batch of lasagna.

All you need to do is layer your pizza slices with all your lasagna favorites. For instance, you’ll want to toss on some spaghetti/marinara sauce, seasonings, and plenty of cheese – especially ricotta and mozzarella. Get crafty by adding meat, vegetables, and other yummy ingredients.

Bake in the oven until everything is bubbling, ooey-gooey, and calling your name!

2. Pizza Waffles

Ok, sure, so waffles aren’t typically savory. But I think you’re someone who enjoys bending all of the rules, aren’t you?

If you’re as fanatical about waffles as we are, you’ll seriously love turning your pizza into a handheld waffle.

Simply fold the pizza in half and stick it into your waffle iron for a few minutes.

You can also kick it up a notch by throwing some things into the middle of your pizza. For example, add some additional favorite types of cheeses, veggies or meats, or spices/seasonings.

3. Pizza Burger

Calories? What are calories?

OK, in all seriousness, this option is for those who don’t mind gobbling down a large number of calories, carbs, and fats in a single sitting. (Maybe it’s your birthday, or you graduated?)

However, despite how unhealthy this choice may be, it’s undeniably one of the most delicious. I mean, who doesn’t love pizza and burgers? Combine them for a mega-dinner you won’t soon forget.

Cook the burger patty first. Then, slab it right between two pieces of pizza. I like finishing this “meal” by sticking the whole thing in my panini press. It’s so good, y’all!

4. Pizza Strips

Not everyone wants to spend time transforming leftover pizza into brag-worthy meals in their kitchen, and that’s OK. That doesn’t mean you have to settle for a dull slice of leftover pizza.

This next option is a cinch, but it can still be a fantastic new way to enjoy leftover pizza slices.

All you have to do for this trick is cut your pizza slices into small, long strips. Then, make a batch of your favorite soup or stew. Then, use your pizza strip like a breadstick. Dip it and munch on your fave meal!

Not a fan of soups and stews? You can even settle for a few different types of dipping sauces! Some of the best ones include ranch, pesto, Alfredo, and barbecue sauce. (This makes an excellent snack, everyone!)

5. Pizza Eggs

Most of these options will be ideal for lunch or dinner (or snacktime), but what about breakfast?

So many people (including myself) warm up a piece of pizza in the microwave or air fryer for a quick breakfast in the morning.

This is great and all, but why not shake things up a bit?

If you cut the pizza into small, bite-sized pieces and mix them with a few eggs, you can make the coolest and tastiest breakfast scrambled eggs you’ve ever tried. I mean, seriously, who else can say that they had pizza scrambled eggs for breakfast?

6. Pizza Salad

I’ll admit – I don’t have the healthiest leftover ideas on this list. (Sorry, not sorry.)

That’s why I decided to add this option as number six – you know, so those health-conscious individuals could find something to do with all that leftover pizza!

This one’s pretty simple. Cut the pizza into small, bite-sized slices. Fry them on the stove with a little pinch of oil. Let them cool on a clean, dry paper towel. When they’re cooled and crunchy, toss them into your favorite salad.

The little pizza pieces will act like the most delicious croutons you’ve ever had!
