Costco Kirkland Signature Mac and Cheese
Summary
The Costco Kirkland Signature Mac and Cheese is a yummy dish that blends Alfredo sauce with romano and parmesan cheeses. It’s sold in bulk, ensuring there is plenty to go around. All you need to do is pop it into the oven for about an hour and enjoy piping hot, ultra-cheesy macaroni!
The best way to describe the Costco Kirkland Signature Mac and Cheese is “OK.” I thought the garlic flavor was way too strong, and the cheese was way too thick. I prefer a thinner cheese sauce with my noodles. I also think the price is steep and the cooking time is a little too long.
What I Like: Lots of cheesy flavors, enough to feed a large group of people, easy to bake.
What I Don’t Like: Too-thick cheese sauce, overpriced, garlic flavor too strong, took a while to bake.

Costco Kirkland Signature Mac and Cheese needs to be baked anywhere from 40 to 60 minutes. I went the full 60 minutes because I like my cheese cooked a bit longer, so there are some crispier areas.

I’m a little bit obsessed with macaroni and cheese. I could easily eat it every day and never think twice. Yet, during my last trip to Costco, I realized something shocking – I had never tried the Costco Kirkland Signature Mac and Cheese.
Of course, I threw it into my cart immediately and raced home to find out what the buzz was all about. Here’s what I found out.
Detailed Review

Location in Costco Store
Costco Kirkland Signature Mac and Cheese is located toward the back of the store, where other Costco “homemade” items are stored. For example, this macaroni is located by the famous chicken quesadillas, quinoa salad, and the budget-friendly rotisserie chicken.
The item number for Costco Kirkland Signature Mac and Cheese is 40506.
Price
When it comes to the Costco Kirkland Signature Mac and Cheese, you pay by the pound, so the price can vary from one package to the other. However, I found that most hovered around $13 to $14 with $3.49 per pound.
To be honest, I wasn’t crazy about the price. Yes, it’s a pretty big thing of macaroni and cheese. However, I would’ve liked it if the price was closer to $10 or $11.
Ease of Use/Store
Baking the Costco Kirkland Signature Mac and Cheese is a cinch. All you need to do is remove the plastic lid, cover the entire pan with aluminum foil, place it on a baking sheet, and bake for 40 to 60 minutes at 400F.
Storing is a bit trickier. While you could keep the leftovers in the pan and cover it with a fresh piece of aluminum foil, I don’t know if I recommend it. The pan got a little floppy, and I like more security. My suggestion is to use a thing of Tupperware.
Keep in mind that you need to bake the Costco Kirkland Signature Mac and Cheese within four days of purchasing. It should be kept in the refrigerator until you’re ready to cook it.
Once cooked, you can store leftovers in the refrigerator for three days or in the freezer for three months. (Of course, that’s if you have any leftovers!)
Taste
The best way I can describe the Costco Kirkland Signature Mac and Cheese is “OK.” To be honest, I wasn’t crazy about the flavor. Yes, there was tons of cheese, which is fantastic, but I thought the garlic overpowered most of the cheese flavors.
My other issue was the texture. While some people love a very thick cheese on their noodles, I prefer a thinner and creamier texture. That said, I was not a fan of the cheese “sauce.” I will say that I enjoyed the long, spirally Cellentani noodles. That was a fun surprise I was not expecting – I thought it would have elbow noodles!
This definitely was not the best mac and cheese I’ve ever had. The rest of my family members weren’t fans of this macaroni either.
Nutrition
The Costco Kirkland Signature Mac and Cheese comes with all the “typical” macaroni and cheese ingredients, including pasta, cheese (romano, shredded, and parmesan), and flour.
The product contains wheat and milk, so it’s unsuitable for those with allergies to these ingredients.
As far as nutritional content, the Costco Kirkland Signature Mac and Cheese is pretty high in calories, with 340 per cup. There are also 22 grams of fat, 27 grams of carbs, and 12 grams of protein.
Nutritionally, is it the worst macaroni and cheese out there? No. But it’s not the best, either. If you’re on a diet, I’d stick to a single cup alongside healthier food items like chicken breast and vegetables.
Final Verdict
To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t the world’s biggest fan of the Costco Kirkland Signature Mac and Cheese. I probably would not buy it again. However, it might be a good option if you like a thicker cheese sauce.
